El Castillo de Bellver es un castillo de estilo gótico que fue construido en el siglo XIV y que se encuentra situado a tres kilómetros de la ciudad de Palma de Mallorca, en una cima de 112 metros y envuelto de bosque y vegetación y gracias a la altura del Castillo ofrece una de las mejores vistas de la ciudad de Palma de Mallorca, la sierra de tramontana e incluso del Puerto de la ciudad.El Castillo de Bellver que su nombre procede del término “buena vista” es uno de los pocos castillos de Europa que están construidos en una planta redonda y de los que hay en Europa es el más antiguo de ellos, por lo que la visita al castillo de Bellver es muy recomendable para el turismo de la isla de Mallorca.
En el mismo Castillo de Bellver en estos momentos se aloja el museo de historia de la ciudad de Palma de Mallorca, por lo que el Castillo se encuentra abierto al público y podremos disfrutar de su magnífico esplendor.
El Castillo de Bellver fue construido por el arquitecto Pere Salva, y lo construyó para alojar al rey Jaime II de Mallorca que estuvo viviendo en el durante sus años de reinado, por lo que el Castillo se edificó con dos claras funciones, una la de albergar a los reyes de Mallorca y una segunda la de protegerse de posibles ataques, cosa que se puede comprobar por la funcionalidad de la obra y por las murallas y torres que envuelven el castillo sin olvidar el foso que rodea el castillo.
En el interior del Castillo de Bellver lo que en primer momento podemos destacar es el patio redondo en el centro del castillo, con dos pisos que rodean la plaza central y con columnas y vueltas que crean un ambiente muy especial en este lugar. Como anécdota podemos decir que el interior de este patio recuerda mucho a las plazas de toros tan típicas y habituales en España.

De Octubre a Marzo de 8:00 a 17:30h
De Abril a Septiembre de 8:00 a 19:30h
Precio de la Entrada
Para adultos: 2,50 euros
Para pensionistas, estudiantes, y menores de 16 años: 1 euros
Sábados por la mañana entrada gratis para los residentes de la isla
Domingo entrada libre a todo el mundo, pero con las salas del museo cerradas
Como llegar al Castillo de Bellver desde Palma de Mallorca
Se puede llegar al Castillo de Bellver de dos formas, la primera es en coche, y siguiendo la calle Camilo José Cela hasta llegar al Parking del castillo donde podremos dejar el vehículo mientras hacemos las visita.
Otra posibilidad si no disponemos de coche es coger las líneas 3,4,20,21,22 de la EMT hasta Joan Miró (Gomila) y el resto del camino lo deberemos realizar a pie hasta llegar al castillo de Bellver, desde la parada hasta llegar al castillo tardaremos unos 20 minutos.
